Bio
Dr. Heasman specializes in conducting risk assessments for adults involved in the criminal justice system or child protection services. Her primary focus is evaluating the risk of sexual re-offending or engaging in sexually inappropriate behaviour.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Dr. Heasman has extensive expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals connected to the criminal justice for sexual offences. She completed her graduate training at Alliant International University in California and subsequently worked for seven years at the Ontario Correctional Institute (OCI), a therapeutic correctional facility for adult men. Currently, she serves on the staff of the Sexual Behaviours Clinic at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH). Dr. Heasman is also a co-founder and current leader of Talking for Change, Canada’s first federally funded program focused on preventing child sexual abuse perpetration. Her research focus is on clinician decision-making and mandatory reporting in cases involving individuals with sexual interest in pre-pubescent or pubescent children.
Dr. Heasman is a registered member of the Ontario Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA). She currently serves as President of ATSA’s Board of Directors. She is registered for autonomous practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the College of Alberta Psychologists and provides virtual services to individuals in Quebec and Nova Scotia.

Dr. Pauls is licensed in Ontario & Newfoundland.
Dr. Pauls provides therapeutic services to a diverse range of adult clients, with or without legal involvement. He specializes in working with individuals facing challenges related to intimate partner violence, sexual offences, and both violent and non-violent offences. His expertise extends to helping clients address anger management issues, offering tailored strategies to manage and reduce problematic anger. Additionally, Dr. Pauls has extensive experience in substance use treatment, supporting individuals in achieving goals such as harm reduction or complete abstinence. He also offers compassionate, non-judgmental support to individuals with atypical sexual preferences who are seeking help outside the legal system.
Dr. Pauls earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2005 and became registered as a Forensic and Clinical Psychologist in Ontario in 2007. In 2022, he expanded his professional credentials, obtaining licensure as a Psychologist with the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board.
Over the past two decades, Dr. Pauls has devoted his career to working primarily with adults in conflict with the law. He has held roles with the Correctional Service of Canada, the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). His work has focused on psycho-diagnostic evaluations, risk assessments, and treatment planning for individuals with severe mental illnesses and addictions, including those found Not Criminally Responsible (NCR) for their offences. Dr. Pauls currently works for Newfoundland Health Services, Western Region.
As a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA), Dr. Pauls has provided both treatment and risk assessment services for individuals who have committed sexual offences and those seeking preventive interventions. He employs evidence-based approaches in his practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Structured Relapse Prevention, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and Harm Reduction strategies.

Eilidh brings over a decade of diverse experience to her practice, having worked extensively within mental health services in both Scotland and Canada. She earned her Masters of Social Work from Robert Gordon University in Scotland, followed by a postgraduate diploma from Strathclyde University that certified her as a Mental Health Officer. Her professional journey includes roles in social work and mental health services across Scotland, where she honed her expertise in assessments, crisis intervention, and long-term treatment planning.
Since moving to Canada, Eilidh has continued her impactful work as a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She is currently a therapist with the Problem Gambling and Technology Use Service at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. In this role, she provides tailored support to clients dealing with the unique challenges associated with behavioural addictions, drawing on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Kajan is a Registered Social Worker with many years of experience providing compassionate support for individuals navigating mental health, substance use and behavioural concerns, including problem gambling and technology use concerns with diverse backgrounds. Kajan works within an anti-oppressive framework with a cultural sensitive approach towards care. Through Kajan’s experience working in the mental health and addictions sector, he understands the shame and guilt associated with mental health and addictions, which can feel exhausting and lonely. Kajan is committed to empowering clients by acknowledging and addressing challenges while recognizing one’s unique strengths to build resilience. He supports individuals by building a healthy relationship with themselves and continuing to build coping skills.
Kajan holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from York University, Toronto. He is currently registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
Kajan is also a social worker/therapist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), working in the Problem Gambling and Technology Use Service where he provides support for youth and adults struggling with their behaviour and concerned family members/loved ones. Previously, Kajan started his journey as a Case Manager working with racialized youth, providing intensive case management that focused on their current needs/challenges. His overall work experience involves doing clinical practice, assessments, case management, crisis intervention and treatment planning. Kajan integrates therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths Based Approach, Narrative Therapy and mindfulness. Kajan provides a flexible, ‘not one size fits all’ approach when working with individuals and supporting individuals with ongoing and new challenges. Kajan is passionate about the work he does and working with clients not only helped him grow as a professional but also personally.
